This module guides you through the special time of giving birth, breaking it down into four stages of labour. You'll gain an understanding of what to expect and how you might feel during each stage. The module also provides essential tips for partners and support people on how they can best help. This journey is designed to empower you with knowledge and confidence for one of life's most profound experiences.

Fetal monitoring including how your health care team checks on your baby’s well-being during labour
What to expect during and right after the birth of your baby including cord clamping
The "Golden Hour" after birth

Our resources are aligned with trusted materials like the Perinatal and Newborn Health HUB, Baby’s Best Chance, and HealthLink BC, and are developed using the best available knowledge at the time of publication. Content is created and reviewed by subject matter experts, an interdisciplinary health care team, and PSBC’s Community Advisory Committee, including parent partners, to ensure accuracy and relevance.
